Lead Abatement Certification - CDPH - Cal/OSHA

CDPH - Cal/OSHA Lead in Construction Standard - Certification Course

The California Department of Public Health requires all construction workers and supervisors to become Lead Certified for public protection. It is a legal requirement for those that intend to remove lead related contaminants like lead paint, lead dust and lead soil as part of the construction project. Our Lead in Construction Standard Program satisfies the 24 hour educational requirement for students to become certified with the California Department of Health. No prior experience or education required.

Course Objective:

Our Lead in Construction Standard course is designed to provide the training required by the CDPH and meet the mutual goal of providing knowledge and hands on experience to insure that construction activities involving lead are performed in a safe manner to eliminate existing lead hazards and to avoid creating new lead poisoning hazards for children and other occupants, as well as the workers themselves.

Who needs to be certified?

The Lead in Construction Standard Certification is for those who plan to do lead related activities under the direction of a certified Supervisor.

Certification Highlights:
  • Certified workers can work under a Supervisor
  • Earn more income by participating in construction jobs that can quickly turn into lead safety jobs
  • Increase contract value by having intellectual knowledge of lead hazards
Students will receive:
  • 24 Hours of Live Training
  • 80 page Study/Class Materials Binder
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • In-class final exam
  • 1 free retake

Important Note: This CDPH Lead in Construction Standard does not eliminate the legal requirement for EPA-RRP lead safety certification (or vise versa). California construction workers are encouraged to obtain both certifications to ensure total Lead Safety compliance.
