In remembrance of our friend and colleague John Baker, Senior Vice President
at Contractors State License Services, the CSLS scholarship program has
been renamed the John Baker Contractors Scholarship program. |

John Baker was a beloved employee of Contractors State License Services for
over fifteen years and was instrumental in our growth and success. He worked
his way through the ranks to a senior position and he was also a pioneer for
CSLS in the development of programs and outreach to the Vocational Rehabilitation
Industry. John loved helping students overcome obstacles and achieve their career
goals. One of his most proud moments was when one of our CSLS students was recognized
at the "Faces of Success" Awards held by OBRA (Organization of Bilingual
Rehabilitation Associates). He shared with a colleague at that occasion; "It
is rewarding to know that we are playing a part in the rehabilitation of a deserving
individual". Therefore, it is appropriate that we recognize John through
our scholarship program that continues to assist individuals in achieving their
dreams.
John was all about making a difference in a very gentle way and he did so with
his friends, family, clients and co-workers. He was insightful, generous and
had a wonderful sense of humor. It was an honor and pleasure to have him as
a part of the CSLS family for the past fifteen years.
